Museum of Local History Pale-Pregenzerhaus
Fiss (Austria)/2009 – 2012
“s’Paules und s’Seppls Haus” where the Heimatmuseum Fiss (Museum of Local History) has opened is a place with an extraordinary history. The exhibition makes the building talk with only a minimum of alterations. Alongside other exceptional stories and traditions, the listed historic house itself is the main exhibit of the museum. The latter is the result of a natural construction history that extended over several centuries. It is a testimony of an era, a community and a way of life that is nowadays rather unfamiliar and incomprehensible. The exhibition concept brings all this back to life without covering up the original building structure. Almost floating display cases are installed in the centre of the rooms; some walls and original inventory are overlaid with informative projections.
