Tyrol Panorama Bergisel
Innsbruck (Austria)/2007 – 2011
The museum is located at Bergisel, a prominent historic place where the Battles of Bergisel took place in 1809. The exhibition is divided into three parts. In the beginning, the history of the battles is told and one of the very few remaining historic panorama paintings is shown. The second part of the museum contextualises the battles with the history of Tyrol and the cultural and political events of the time. The third part of the museum focuses on the aftermath of the battles, on the history of the »Kaiserjäger«, an Imperial and Royal military regiment, and also touches the early stages of European unification.
